A terrific day last Wednesday March 29 as the Transportation Skills Regional Competition was a great success. We continue to see an increase in skills proficiency and desire to be involved in the Transportation program due to the participation in this competition. Students are also demonstrating more confidence and desire to achieve higher expectations.

I would like to extend special thanks to our sponsors. Bessey Tools North America and Vice President of Marketing, Andrew Fera, who continues to be the biggest contributor to our competition as well a big advocate of getting students involved in the trades and supporting trade focused initiatives. New to our competition of sponsors, Matco Tools (Regional Manager Bill Patten) who represents a company that is one of our industry leaders in automotive related tools. Thank you for providing tools to our winners and we look forward to working with you in the future.

I believe the competition continues to see progress, growth, and a continual increase in the educational validity. The success of these measures can only happen with teachers and volunteers that care about the future of our students and exemplify the extreme benefits of technological education in our board. Special thanks to all the teachers involved with making this day possible and it was my pleasure to work with this group of individuals that have a vested interest in seeing tech at the forefront in our board and community.
